About the job Product Owner IT Product Owner – Investment Product & Portfolio Master (Contract) New York, NY | Hybrid (2 days onsite) IT Product Owner with a leading institutional asset manager to take ownership of their Product Master and Portfolio Master platforms needed ASAP. The right person will shape how investment products and portfolio structures are defined, governed, and connected across the firm's full technology stack. If you have spent your career inside investment management firms owning the data platforms that support product launches, portfolio structures, and the investment data lifecycle from front to back, this is worth a conversation. What you will be doing: • Own the backlog and roadmap for Product Master and Portfolio Master initiatives • Define data models, hierarchies, and relationships across portfolios, sleeves, accounts, and product structures • Translate business and data requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria • Partner with engineering on database design, data integration, and architecture • Drive data governance, data quality, and ownership frameworks • Manage integration with downstream systems including reporting, performance, IBOR, and vendor platforms • Support product and portfolio onboarding workflows and lifecycle management • Lead UAT, validation, and reconciliation across systems What we are looking for: • 10+ years in technology or business analysis within investment management, on the buy side • 5+ years as a formal Product Owner in an Agile/Scrum environment • Direct, hands-on experience with Product Master and Portfolio Master platforms • Deep understanding of portfolio structures, sleeves, accounts, and product hierarchies • Strong grasp of the investment data lifecycle front to back • Experience with IBOR, Security Master, performance, and attribution data • Solid SQL and data modeling skills • Familiarity with vendor platforms such as FactSet, Bloomberg, Aladdin, State Street, or MSCI Why this role: This is a platform modernization initiative at a firm with real investment operations complexity.
